Who We Serve
The Dallas Bridges office serves:
- Employers in the Dallas metropolitan area
- Youth participants from the school districts listed below on this page
- We also work closely with parents, guardians and local schools
Age & Residency Requirements
- Are between the ages of 17-22
- Have a documented disability (i.e. psychiatric evaluation by a medical professional or IEP)
- Have a valid social security card (or other U.S. citizenship document)
- Are interested in employment
- Have reached a level of independence to work without intensive on-the-job coaching
Transportation
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is the main transportation system for the downtown area. The Bridges office is accessible using DART’s bus or train system. For more information about DART system please visit www.dart.org, or call the Customer Information Center at (214) 979-1111.
- Downtown Routing Buses. The West Transfer Center is the closest bus station to the Dallas Bridges office. This center is bordered by Lamar, San Jacinto, Griffin and Pacific, near West End Station. It is about 2½ blocks away from the Bridges office. The following bus routes serve the West Transfer Center: 2, 11, 12, 24, 26, 29, 31, 36, 37, 39, 42, 44, 49, 52, 59, 161, 165, 183, 185, 202, 204, 205, 210, 247.
- Downtown Rail Station. (Red, Blue or Green Lines.) Akard Station is the closest stop to the Bridges office. This stop is located on Pacific Ave., between N. Akard St. & N. Field St. About 1½ blocks away from Bridges office.
Parking
Meter parking available on Main Street.
Paid parking available on site $5.00 per hour. Garage entrance is on Elm Street.
San Jacinto and Patterson Streets paid parking $5.00 all day.
