The Philadelphia office of Bridges from School to Work matches youth with disabilities between the ages of 17 and 22 with entry-level job positions in local Philadelphia area businesses that are seeking workforce diversification solutions. Learn more about what we do and how we’re funded.

Who We Serve

The Philadelphia Bridges office serves:

  • Employers in the Philadelphia area
  • Youth participants from the school districts listed below on this page
  • Ticket to Work holders under the age of twenty-three

We also work closely with parents, guardians and local schools.

Age & Residency Requirements

  • Are between the ages of 17-22
  • Have a documented disability
  • Have documentation of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Are interested in employment
  • Have reached a level of independence to work without intensive on-the-job coaching
  • Philadelphia Resident

Transportation

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit System (SEPTA) is the main transportation system for the downtown area. The Bridges office is accessible using SEPTA bus, trolley, or train systems. For more information about SEPTA system please visit www.septa.org, or call the Customer Information Center at (215) 580-7800.

  • Downtown Routing Buses. 15th & Walnut is the closest bus station to the Philadelphia Bridges office and City Hall is very close by. Many bus routes follow Broad Street, Market Street, Chestnut Street, and Walnut Street routes.
  • Downtown Rail Station. Suburban Station is the closest regional rail stop to the Bridges office. This stop is located on 15th Street and Market Street—about 4 blocks away from Bridges office.
  • Downtown Subway Routes. (Blue or Orange Lines.) The City Hall/15th Street stop on the blue line (the EL train) and the Broad & Walnut street stop on the orange line (the subway) are the closest train stops to the Bridges office. The Bridges office is within 2 blocks of each of these stops.
