The Washington DC Metropolitan office of Bridges from School to Work matches youth with disabilities between the ages of 17 and 22, with competitive, paid positions in local D.C. area businesses that are seeking workforce diversification solutions. Learn more about what we do and how we’re funded.

Who We Serve

The Washington DC Metropolitan Area Bridges office serves:

High School seniors in the special education program, between the ages of 17-22, attending:

  • Ballou High School
  • Columbia Heights Education Campus
  • Dunbar High School
  • Wilson High School
  • Woodson High School

We also work closely with parents, guardians and local schools.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Between the ages of 17-22 referred to Bridges by school-based staff
  • Have a documented disability in the form of an IEP
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship in the form of a U.S. birth certificate or other form identified by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. in the form of a Social Security Card (or U.S. government-issued document)
  • Legible form of Photo Identification (school ID is acceptable but DMV ID card is preferred
